INVESTING IN LOCAL LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

LeaderBridge® is now part of Spur Local: An expanded partnership with the Crimsonbridge Foundation

About LeaderBridge®

Founded by the Crimsonbridge Foundation, the LeaderBridge initiative invests in leadership development for local leaders in the Greater Washington region to strengthen the nonprofit sector and community. Since 2016, more than 200 local nonprofit leaders have advanced their professional skills through LeaderBridge.

As an early LeaderBridge collaborator and the region's largest nonprofit capacity builder, Spur Local will carry LeaderBridge forward and expand its reach in 2025 and beyond. The Crimsonbridge Foundation will continue to support nonprofit leadership development through grantmaking and strategic communications.

If you are an interested local nonprofit leader, please find more information about LeaderBridge programs below.

Spring Programs

Registration is now open.

Self-ology: A Study of Self & Purpose for Nonprofit Leaders

Self-ology is a transformative 7-week program for women nonprofit leaders, grounded in The Artist’s Way, that invites participants to explore who they are—both as people and as leaders. This rare learning experience creates intentional space for deep self-discovery, clarity of purpose, and renewal. Through practical, lifelong structures, leaders strengthen their ability to trust their inner voice and lead with authenticity. Self-ology equips participants to give from the overflow of a restored and grounded self, rather than allowing constant demands to draw from the depths of their well.

Sessions run from May to July 2026.

Apogee Strengths Leadership Coaching

A six-month, comprehensive program tailored for nonprofit C-Suite executives.

This program enhances your leadership effectiveness, fosters team cohesion, optimizes organizational performance, and builds positive external relationships.

Develop a personalized leadership development plan, complete a leadership strengths assessment and a leader styles survey, and participate in leadership challenge lab and team dynamics sessions.

Format: 6, 1:1 coaching sessions and 2 in-person cohort convenings

Sessions run from April to November 2026.

Grassroots Accelerator Program

The Grassroots Accelerator Program (GAP) is a 6-month program that works to empower local nonprofit leaders to advance their critical work in the community.

The program will focus on the vital skills and topic areas leaders need to grow nonprofits sustainably. Participants in this cohort-based program will finish the program with a community of peer leaders, specific goals for the next 6-12 months, as well as a fundraising plan and program plan. This cohort is designed for Executive Directors who lead nonprofits with budgets under $250,000.

Sessions run from March to August 2026.

Leading Under Pressure

A 6-session program facilitated by somatic coach, Leah Landry.

Leading Under Pressure focuses on practical skill-building you can use immediately in your day-to-day leadership. Through guided, body-based practices and structured peer learning, you’ll build the internal capacity to stay grounded, think clearly, and respond strategically — even in high-pressure environments. This is an interactive leadership lab, not a lecture. Each session gives you practical body-based tools you can practice in real time and apply directly to your work.

Sessions run from April to June 2026.
